Wow. I must say that the self-professed ignorance and racist undertones really surprised me here. You always appeared to me to be someone who made decisions and formed opinions only after getting all the facts. I am grateful that you're "totally aware" that we made history yesterday. If you've ever studied American History you would indeed be very impressed by our country's latest achievement in overcoming racial discrimination. Yay USA! As far as why the American Public views him as either A) "this almighty savior of the American people" or B) as "this almighty detriment", I believe both views stem from the extreme economical and socionomical situation we are in right now (read: the national deficit is astronomical; we're fighting not 1, but 2 wars where people our own age are dying, becoming crippled and mentally distressed and we have no money left to help them; the cost of health insurance and the standards of healthcare are a joke; foreign relations are strained and failing leaving us with even less resources; and caring for/preserving our planet has become of critical importance if you want to have a safe place for your children and grandchildren to live). People who are faced with such extremes often react extremely (including you and me). This will be a time of great change for our country regardless of which party holds office. Personally, I found it prudent to vote for someone who is intelligent, well educated and even-keeled. Somone who will be able to make the right (although not always easy) choices to better the lives, and lessen the struggles of those who elected him. Someone who is willing to be accountable for his actions and the actions of those that represent him. Someone who is brave enough to stand up and acknowledge that we have failed as a country and would like to be a part of making it right again. Yes, he is just a man. But he is the man millions of people are looking for to guide them through this very scary time. And ignorant, he is not.

Well Said Mandi - our county would be better off if people who chose to vote would choose to educate themselves!
