8 yr. old Black Lab needs a home

To all my friends out there, I know most of you wouldn't be able to accomodate a new addition to the family, but maybe you know someone; a friend, coworker, or someone through church who does? We're getting desperate. This poor dog has overstayed her welcome at several places already (THANK YOU to those of you who have helped us already!!!!!!!!) and we are running out of options.

We are in desperate need of a loving, permenant home for an 8 yr. old black lab named Kahlua. Kahlua's only owner was killed here in Lincoln in late October. Since then she has bounced from friend to friend, ending up at the Humane Society 3 times while we locate a suitable new home for her.

Kahlua is a wonderful companion! She is a seasoned (8 year old) dog so she is well housetrained and knows several basic commands such as sit and heel (although due to circumstance it has been a while since these commands have been used). Kahlua is a real people pleaser too! She is affectionate, protective, and loyal. If you have a job that she could accompany you to, or have a family with an active lifestyle, she would a wonderful companion. She'll play fetch until you're tired, will "help" you with your yardwork and will lay contentedly at your feet after a long day. (She can get somewhat over excited/jumpy occasionally so a household with children under 10 is not recommended). She loves spending time outdoors (a fenced in yard would be preferable), enjoys long walks/runs, can swim quite well, and has a blast in the snow. She has also lived successfully with other dogs and cats in the past. She seems to enjoy playing mamma dog.

If you are interested in providing a much needed home for a wonderful dog don't hesitate to call Mandi at (402) 617-2420 anytime between 8am and 8pm. All questions/ inquireies are welcome! We are very sincere in our search for a permenant home for Kahlua and would be happy to make arrangements for her to take a trial "vacation" at your home to see how everyone gets along. Kahlua is current on all her vaccinations and we would be able to provide a medical history as needed. Re-homing fees would be discussed on an individual basis.
